Mapito Book Release Event
Last week, when my book Mapito started to become available from booksellers around the world, I panicked. Up until that moment, I could still technically refund the money to everyone who had pre-ordered the book (directly from me). I could change my mind, and just not put it out in the world.
I could pretend, at least for a while longer, that I had some control over the situation. Over who was going to read it, making sure that only those who thought it was good would see it.
Now, that is no longer the case. The e-book is available almost everywhere for pre-order, the paperback is slowly making its way onto store shelves and online, and the audiobook and hardcover should be available for pre-order in a couple of weeks.
And here I am, trying to calm my nerves down. Reminding myself that now it is time to let go and to celebrate this momentous occasion.
And so . . . celebrate we will.
I’m happy to share that we are throwing the Mapito Book Release Event on what would have been my mother-in-law’s 100th birthday. The name “mapito” was a gift my mother-in-law gave me. If you missed my note last week sharing the story, you can read it on my blog.
I hope you can join us at Loft39 in Midtown Manhattan on April 22nd from 6:30-8:00pm. Tickets are available now! The venue is ADA accessible and close to several transit lines.
It’s going to be a wonderful event. I will read a bit, we will explore concepts from the book, and there will be time for Q&A. After that, I will sign books and light refreshments will be available. I hope you will join me in celebrating this momentous occasion.
Seating is limited. Early bird pricing will end on March 31st and ticket sales will end on April 15th.
You may notice our web presence has a new look. Yes, I have a new website! I hope you’ll check it out and tell me what you think. The new site includes a store inspired by Mapito.
As people began reading the book, I heard again and again — I wish I was reading this with a journal in hand. You see, in every chapter of Mapito, I end with reflection questions. As people took these questions in, they wanted to write or maybe draw. This inspired us to create a Mapito Reflection Journal. Now, there are three – a spiral, softcover, and hardcover. Once the journal was created, creative juices flowed, and now we have an entire line of products inspired by Mapito. I hope you’ll check it out!
Please do come and celebrate with us at the Book Release Event in New York City on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 6:30pm - 8:00 pm.
Sending love and support during this difficult time.
Blessings,
Chani
PS: Appreciate my work? One way to support me is to pre-order my first book Mapito! Another way is to make a financial contribution. This enables me to support people of all income levels. Thank you for reading!
