In this specialized workshop, Rev. Chani presents recent research related to LGBTQ+ psychology and case studies to exemplify the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people who grow up in fundamentalist religious communities as well as their struggle to leave the community and develop their own identity. Rev. Chani then supports participants to analyze the cases.
Participants will:
> Learn about key research findings on LGBTQ+ psychology
> Evaluate clinical dilemmas in case studies of LGBTQ+ clients and how to address them
> Deepen their understanding of how intersectional variables such as race, ethnicity, religion and immigration status impact the psychology of LGBTQ+ clients

The difficulties change brings frequently show up in the workplace, causing distress, low morale, and reduced productivity. But that doesn’t mean we are powerless. By understanding how change affects us, we can change how we relate to it.
Chani adapts Virginia Satir’s process of change model to provide a powerful framework to understand change, prepare for it, and embrace it when it inevitably arrives.
